Allows political subdivisions to jointly establish a service award program for volunteer firefighters.

New York S07554 amends the general municipal law to allow political subdivisions contracting for fire protection or ambulance services from the same special fire company or department to jointly establish a service award program for the volunteer firefighters. This program can only be established if all participating political subdivisions approve the agreement and the program is administered by either the political subdivision or the state of New York. If a participating political subdivision withdraws, it ceases to be a sponsor without further action.
