Increases the number of family court judges in New York City, Westchester, Rockland, Erie, and Niagara counties.
This bill amends the family court act to increase the number of family court judges in the city of New York to seventy-two. It also provides for two additional family court judges for each of Westchester and Rockland counties and an additional family court judge for each of Erie and Niagara counties. The compensation for these additional judges will be the same as the existing family court judges in their respective counties. The new positions will be filled by election in November 2025.
