New York S07433 amends the general obligations law to prohibit employers from requiring employees or job seekers to waive, arbitrate, or otherwise diminish any existing or future claim, right, or benefit under New York state or federal law as a condition or precondition of employment. This provision does not apply to contracts or agreements negotiated with any labor union through collective bargaining. The act will take effect 90 days after it becomes law.
