Allows active members of the New York State and Local Police and Fire Retirement System to buy service credit for Long Island Railroad police service.

This bill permits active members of the New York State and Local Police and Fire Retirement System to purchase up to three years of service credit for their time as a police officer with the Long Island Railroad Company. To qualify, members must have at least five years of credited service in the retirement system. Members would pay three percent of their most recent compensation for each year of additional service credit. The state of New York would cover all past service costs related to this change.
