Permits dismissal of speed camera violation if required information in notice of liability is omitted, misdescribed, or illegible.
This bill amends the vehicle and traffic law to allow a violation captured by a speed camera to be dismissed if any required information in the notice of liability is omitted, misdescribed, or illegible. The notice of liability must include the name and address of the person alleged to be liable, the registration number of the vehicle, the location and date/time of the violation, the identification number of the camera, and images of the vehicle. If any of this information is missing or unclear, the violation can be dismissed upon application by the person alleged to be liable.
