Authorizes Duane A. Palma to receive retirement service credit for prior service as a correction officer at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Jail.

This bill allows Duane A. Palma, a current member of the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System (NYSLERS) and employed as a deputy sheriff by Monroe County, to elect to be covered under the optional twenty-year retirement plan retroactive to February 22, 1999. If enacted, the county of Monroe will bear the past service costs, estimated at approximately $160,000 as a one-time payment or $35,900 annually over five years, without increasing future annual contributions.
