New York S06875 amends the public authorities law to require the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, in consultation with the New York City Transit Authority, the Long Island Rail Road, and the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Company, to allow riders traveling within New York City to pay a fare for commuter rail service equal to that of a MetroCard ride on subways and buses. The bill also allows these riders to make free transfers between commuter rail and New York City Transit subways and buses. This act takes effect immediately.
