The attorney general will create this hotline and may designate a non-governmental organization specializing in animal protection to administer it. The attorney general must make reasonable efforts to inform the public about the hotline. When the hotline receives allegations of animal abuse, it will immediately notify relevant state agencies, local law enforcement, and animal protection organizations. The act will take effect 180 days after it becomes law.
