Prohibits a fee for admission to any exam that would award a high school equivalency diploma.
New York S06541 amends the education law to prohibit any fee for admission to exams awarding a high school equivalency diploma. The bill also makes changes to other laws, including the state finance law, social services law, correction law, administrative code of the city of New York, and civil service law. The provisions of this act shall be severable, and if any part is found invalid, it will not affect the rest of the act. The act shall take effect on January 1, 2026.
