This bill amends the executive law by adding a new section allowing police officers to request drivers to lower all windows of a motor vehicle with tinted windows during a traffic stop if the officer believes it poses a threat to their health or safety. The term "tinted windows" is defined as windows with a light transmittance of less than seventy percent, in violation of the vehicle and traffic law. The act takes effect immediately.
