Directs the office of mental health to study the effects of abuse on formerly incarcerated individuals.
The bill directs the office of mental health, in conjunction with the department of corrections and community supervision, to conduct a study on the effects of abuse suffered while incarcerated on formerly incarcerated individuals. The study will identify, investigate, and analyze the temporary and lasting impacts and costs of abuse. Within one year of the effective date of this act, the office of mental health shall issue a report of the findings of the study to the governor, the temporary president of the senate, and the speaker of the assembly.
