The bill amends the education law to authorize tuition assistance program awards for students enrolled in short-term credential programs offered by certain public institutions. These programs must provide between 150 and 600 clock hours of instructional time over a period of eight to fifteen weeks and align with high-skill, high-wage, or in-demand industry sectors or occupations in the state. The awards are calculated based on the enrollment factor percent and count toward the maximum term of eligibility for tuition assistance awards. The act takes effect immediately.
