This bill amends the environmental conservation law to prohibit the application of pesticides in certain local freshwater wetlands for local governments that have implemented a freshwater wetlands protection law. It allows such governments to adopt local laws or ordinances to enforce this prohibition, effective January 1 following their adoption. The bill does not apply to pesticides used for controlling invasive species, noxious weeds, or protecting critical native plant species.
