New York S05834 amends the energy law to allow standard utility interconnection of sub-transmission lines for certain projects.
New York S05834 amends the energy law by adding a new section 21-107, which explicitly permits the standard utility interconnection of sub-transmission lines for particular projects. This amendment allows all forms of energy considered distributed generation to connect to the utilities distribution system at the sub-transmission level, provided the generator meets all other state and federal requirements. The process for such interconnections will follow the same method and fashion as interconnections at the transmission level. This act takes effect immediately.
