This bill amends the agriculture and markets law to enhance penalties for committing multiple animal cruelty offenses. It defines aggravated cruelty to animals as intentionally causing extreme physical pain or acting in a depraved or sadistic manner. A person convicted of aggravated cruelty to animals is guilty of a felony. The bill also increases penalties for those previously convicted of animal cruelty offenses within the past ten years.
