The Disaster Voting Relief Act allows the governor to suspend or delay voting in a state of emergency. Qualified voters in affected areas can vote absentee without needing to affirm they are registered in the election district. The state board of elections must review and canvass these ballots. The act takes effect 180 days after becoming law.
