The bill establishes a wage enhancement for employees providing direct care support or treatment to individuals with developmental disabilities. Eligible employees must work for providers licensed by the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and have an income below $125,000. The commissioner of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, in consultation with the Division of the Budget, will establish a list of eligible employee titles. Funds will be distributed to eligible providers to enhance the base wages and benefits of eligible employees.
