The bill authorizes Kim Bowers to receive certain service credit with the New York state and local employees' retirement system for her employment with the town of Orchard Park Zoning Board of Appeals. If Kim Bowers files a written request with the state comptroller within one year of the bill's effective date, she will be deemed to have joined the retirement system on January 1, 2006. The town of Orchard Park will bear all past service costs of implementing the provisions of this act.
