The bill amends the public health law to require the New York state of health to help veterans ascertain their eligibility for health care through the Department of Veterans Affairs. If a veteran is eligible, the state of health must provide them with resources to apply for health care benefits through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The changes will take effect 90 days after the bill becomes law.
