Requires DMV forms, tests, and applications in cities with over one million residents to be available in Punjabi, Bengali, and Hindi.
This bill amends the vehicle and traffic law to mandate that the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) provide all written tests, forms, and applications for learner's permits and driver's licenses in Punjabi, Bengali, and Hindi in cities with a population of one million or more. The DMV must also offer translation and interpretation services in these languages to applicants upon request. The changes will take effect one year after the bill becomes law.
