This bill introduces the volunteer emergency services mileage reimbursement tax credit. It allows active volunteer firefighters and volunteer ambulance workers a credit against their tax for each mile traveled in the fulfillment of their emergency response duties. The credit is limited to the reasonable mileage allowance, which cannot exceed the federal standard travel allowance for mileage. To qualify, volunteers must be active for the entire taxable year and certified by the appropriate authority.
