Enacts the "employment first choice act" to allow individuals with developmental disabilities in nonintegrated settings to remain there if they.
The Employment First Choice Act ensures that individuals with developmental disabilities in nonintegrated settings, such as sheltered workshops, can choose to remain in those settings. The act allows individuals to seek accommodation from the commissioner of developmental disabilities to remain in their chosen nonintegrated setting. The commissioner may require completion of a vocational assessment or a trial integrated work experience every five years.
