New York S03271 amends the social services law by adding a new paragraph to section 365-a. This change provides coverage for remotely connected insulin pens that can operate interactively and/or autonomously for patients with diabetes who are seven years of age or older. Younger patients may use these devices with adult supervision. The cost of these services will be reflected in managed care organization premiums. This act is set to take effect on January 1 of the year following its enactment.
