Requires plaintiffs to provide proof of delivery for foreclosure notices.
This bill amends the real property actions and proceedings law to mandate that plaintiffs in foreclosure cases furnish official proof of delivery for notices sent to defendants. The notices must be sent by the lender, assignee, or mortgage loan servicer to the borrower's last known address and the property's residence, using registered or certified mail and first-class mail with a request for proof of delivery. The notices must include a list of at least five housing counseling agencies from the most recent listing available from the Department of Financial Services.
