This bill amends the labor law to ensure that contractors or subcontractors engaged in custom fabrication for public work projects must pay the prevailing wage rate to workers performing this fabrication, regardless of whether it occurs on-site, off-site, or in another jurisdiction. Custom fabrication includes significant portions of building or work, such as exterior or interior wall systems, woodwork, electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation or exhaust duct systems, rebar cages, and mechanical insulation.
