New York S02394 mandates third-party accommodation reservation services to disclose their third-party status and limits cancellation fees.
New York S02394 amends the general business law to require third-party accommodation reservation services to clearly inform users that they are not the place of public accommodation. These services must also refrain from charging a cancellation fee if the reservation is canceled more than 48 hours in advance and the hotel waives its own cancellation fee. If the hotel does not waive the fee, the third-party service can charge up to 10% of the first night's cost.
