This bill amends the administrative code of New York City to mandate that a police officer must be present at every school, both public and private, within the city during instructional hours and for at least one hour before and one hour after these hours. The police commissioner is responsible for assigning these officers. The requirement can be waived by the mayor or police commissioner in the event of a state of emergency. The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
