Extends the time for public assistance applicants to request a fair hearing on work activity participation from ten days to sixty days.

This bill amends the social services law to extend the period for certain applicants for public assistance benefits to request a fair hearing on a determination of their ability to participate in work activities. The current ten-day window is extended to sixty days, or within sixty days of receipt of a work activity assignment. If a fair hearing is requested, no assignment to work activities may be enforced pending the hearing and determination, unless the applicant agrees to a limited work assignment.
