This bill amends the state finance law to increase the discretionary buying threshold for state agencies purchasing commodities from small business concerns, certified minority and women-owned businesses, and certified veteran companies. The commissioner can now purchase services and commodities for the office of general services or its customer agencies without a formal competitive process in amounts up to $200,000. State agencies can purchase services and commodities up to $50,000 without a formal competitive process.
