This bill amends the insurance law to exempt the city of New York from specific insurance requirements for public construction contracts. These contracts include construction of electrical generating facilities, transmission facilities, light rail or heavy rail rapid transit, commuter railroads, bus facilities, bridges, tunnels, central business district tolling facilities, and related projects. The exemption applies to projects delivered by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and its subsidiaries and affiliates. The changes take effect immediately upon enactment.
