New York S02054 amends the social services law to allow the Department of Education to forward fingerprints and criminal history records of prospective child day care employees to the Office of Children and Family Services for background checks. The Division of Criminal Justice Services can also provide subsequent criminal history notifications directly to the Office of Children and Family Services. This act takes effect immediately.
