This bill amends the executive law to add veterans to the list of protected classes against unlawful housing discrimination. It prohibits owners, lessees, sub-lessees, assignees, or managing agents of publicly-assisted housing from denying housing accommodations, land, or commercial space to any person because of their status as a veteran. The change takes effect immediately upon enactment.
