New York S01349 mandates that school districts provide information on drowning prevention, water safety, and safe and healthy swimming to parents or students upon enrollment. Starting from the 2026-2027 school year, this information must be given to parents or guardians of enrolled students. If the student is 18 or older, the information is provided directly to the student. The information can be delivered electronically or in paper form and translated into any of the twelve most common non-English languages upon request.
