The bill amends the civil service law to provide additional credits to children and siblings of New York city sanitation members who died in the line of duty as a result of the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001, or from participating in the rescue effort. These credits are applicable in competitive examinations for original appointment in the same municipality where the deceased sanitation member served. The additional credits are added to the final earned rating of the eligible candidates.
