The bill amends the public health law to require the commissioner of health to consult with the office of mental health, the office of addiction services and supports, and other relevant stakeholders to publish guidance for incorporating maternal depression screenings into routine prenatal care. This guidance must include recommendations and best practices on when to initiate screenings, how often to repeat them, screening for social needs, referrals for follow-up, and reimbursement methodologies.
