New York S00773 amends the environmental conservation law to allow the sale or distribution of expanded polystyrene containers designed for cold storage of certain tissues, health and safety samples, cultures, reagents, and microbial cultures. These containers must not be wholly encapsulated or encased within a more durable container. The law takes effect immediately, with certain sections delayed until 2030 and 2035.
