Adds elderly persons to disaster preparedness registries and creates a state emergency assistance database.
This bill amends the executive law to add elderly persons to disaster preparedness registries and create a state emergency assistance database (SEAD). The SEAD will list all persons in the state who have voluntarily requested placement on county registries for elderly or disabled preparedness plans. The disaster preparedness commission will establish the SEAD, which will be accessible to state and county emergency response personnel. The commission will not be liable for any claims based on the good faith exercise or performance of duty.
