New York S00123 amends the general business law to prohibit the sale of infant walkers and restrict their use in child care facilities. Manufacturers, importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and secondhand dealers are barred from selling or leasing infant walkers in the state. Child care facilities are prohibited from using or having on their premises any seated area and wheeled base that enables a child to move on a horizontal surface when propelled by the child while seated or standing within the enclosed unit.
