New York S00013 allows pharmacists to compound, dispense, and sell veterinary-specific pharmaceuticals to veterinarians.
New York S00013 amends the education law to permit pharmacists to compound, dispense, and sell veterinary-specific pharmaceuticals to veterinarians. Veterinarians can then possess and keep these drugs in stock for administration and sale, following a non-patient specific regimen prescribed by a licensed veterinary practitioner. However, any dispensing of drugs containing opioids or other controlled substances is subject to limitations set by the Department of Health. This act takes effect immediately.
