Assembly Resolution No. 56 honors the life and legacy of Frederick L. Simpson, a Vietnam Combat Veteran and dedicated community member from Amsterdam, New York. Simpson, who passed away on May 20, 2024, at age 75, was a Lifetime Member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV, and Mobile River Force Association. He was also a member of the Amsterdam Elks Lodge No. 101, where he held the post of the Lodge Inner Guard. Simpson was an avid bowler and latch hooker, winning first place at the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival in 2022.
