Assembly Resolution No. 14 honors William G. Manikas for his lifetime of exemplary achievement and service. Manikas has dedicated his life to education, athletics, and military service. He has served as a teacher, principal, and Superintendent of Schools for 38 years. He was inducted into the Schenectady Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007 and the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was the Captain of the U.S. Men's Basketball Team stationed in Japan from 1953-1955.
