Despite dangerous conditions, Trooper Reed, along with Investigator Allyson Head and Trooper Daniel Mazzarella, entered the rapidly moving, freezing water to save the man. The rescued individual was found to be hypothermic and bleeding from a self-inflicted wound, and was treated by emergency medical services. Trooper Reed's actions are celebrated at the Superintendent's Commendation and Awards Day Ceremony on May 7, 2025.
