The New York State Senate commends Crystie Weigand for her heroic actions during an emergency at North Rose-Wolcott Middle School. On March 28, 2024, Weigand, a Spanish teacher and emergency medical technician, found her unresponsive colleague in the stairwell. She immediately performed CPR, aided by students and the school nurse. The school resource officer had already called 911, thanks to a student's quick action.
