New York A10315 amends the civil service law to enable the civil service commission to classify one in every thirty-six positions as suitable for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. These positions will be noncompetitive and can only be filled by individuals certified by the department's employee health service as having autism spectrum disorder. Employees hired under this provision will have the same promotional examination opportunities as those in the competitive class.
