The bill establishes a competitive emergency mapping grant program to provide grants to school districts or boards of cooperative educational services for upgrading their floor plans, blueprints, schematics, or other maps of their school interior, school grounds, and road maps of the immediate surrounding area. These maps must be included in their building level emergency response plans and verified for accuracy through an initial and annual walkthrough. The commissioner shall prioritize high need districts in awarding such grants.
