This bill amends the transportation law to give the New York State Commissioner of Transportation the authority to increase the maximum grant awards for airport improvement and revitalization. The commissioner can raise the maximum grant amount if the total funds available for assistance support higher grants, up to a maximum of five million dollars. The previous law set the maximum grant at two million five hundred thousand dollars. This change allows for more flexibility in funding larger projects if sufficient funds are available.
