Exempts renewable energy projects with a capacity of up to two megawatts from certain parkland alienation requirements if located above vehicle.
This bill amends the environmental conservation law to exempt renewable energy projects with a generating capacity not exceeding two megawatts from certain requirements for the alienation of parkland. The exemption applies if the project is located above real property currently used for vehicle parking. The exemption does not apply to parkland within the Adirondack Park or Catskill Park. The bill takes effect immediately for projects occurring on or after its effective date.
