The bill establishes a maternal health monitoring pilot program within the department of health to offer eligible participants improved maternal health care through remote patient monitoring for maternal hypertension and maternal diabetes. The program will be administered by selected managed care organizations and a technology vendor. It will be operational for two years, covering up to 500 participants. The program will include counties considered maternity care deserts. The department will pay a fee to the managed care organizations to cover the costs of administering the pilot program.
