New York A09466 amends the workers' compensation law to extend paid family leave benefits to certain construction employees. These employees must have been employed for at least twenty-six of the last thirty-nine weeks by a covered employer that is a signatory to a collective bargaining agreement. The bill also specifies that employees must be employed by a covered employer to remain eligible for family leave benefits. The changes take effect on January 1, 2027.
