Increases the maximum amount of individual awards for the physician loan repayment program and physician practice support program to encourage.

This bill amends the public health law to increase the maximum amount of individual awards for the physician loan repayment program and physician practice support program. The changes apply to applications submitted on or after April 1, 2016. The maximum award for the physician loan repayment program is now up to $250,000 over five years, distributed as follows: 15% of the total loan debt for each of the first three years, and 25% for each of the last two years. The maximum award for the physician practice support program is now up to $66,666 for each of the first three years.
